Darren Ryan

Darren is the CEO of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, a non-profit organisation that is driving the development of innovative solutions to Ireland's social problems. They empower social entrepreneurs all over Ireland by providing funding and working closely with them to develop their ideas.

Over the last 11 years SEI has invested over €6 million in some of the most high-potential social entrepreneurs. This support has enabled these social entrepreneurs to scale their work and have a national impact. Success stories include Men's Sheds, Pieta House, FoodCloud, Women for Election and AsIAm, among many others. In total their Awardees have impacted the lives of over 380,000 people, creating 1,080 jobs in the process.

Darren is passionate about empowering people, and he has a particular interest in education and mental health. He sits on the board of Soar, a social enterprise that helps young Irish people to develop their emotional resilience. He is a member of the Ireland Funds Young Leaders Committee and was recently named among the 'Top Ten Outstanding Young People in Ireland' by Junior Chambers International.
