Maria Lee

Maria Lee is the Assistant Director and Regional Coordinator for Europe at Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WOCAN), a women-led international network of over 1000 members. WOCAN developed the W+ Standard, a unique certification system that measures, verifies and quantifies women's empowerment within projects, through the use of a results-based financing approach, with the aim to drive more resources in women's hands. Maria holds a master degree in International Development and has been working for over 10 years with non-government organizations, civil-society networks and international development organizations in West Africa, Europe and Asia. Her professional career has focused on rural development, youth employment and gender equality.
