Back by popular demand! LP Office Hours is back in 2026 and we’re kicking off the year with our popular online lunchtime sessions on Thursday, 12 February, featuring COFIDES, Spain’s development finance institution, for a candid look into how a public investor approaches impact, partnerships, and capital deployment in practice.
COFIDES (Compañía Española de Financiación del Desarrollo) is a state-owned entity that provides medium- and long-term financing to support private investment projects with development impact, particularly in emerging and developing markets. Through a range of financial instruments and blended finance mechanisms, COFIDES seeks to mobilise private capital in line with public policy objectives while contributing to sustainable economic, social, and environmental outcomes.
During the session, Raúl Sánchez Fernández-Bernal will share insights into COFIDES’s impact investment approach, including how impact considerations are embedded across its activities, how flexibility on financial return is assessed, and what fund managers should know when engaging with a development finance institution.
This members-only LP Office Hours session offers General Partners (GPs) the opportunity to learn directly from COFIDES and engage in a practical, peer-based discussion.
