European AgriFood Co-Funding Alliance

Catalysing systemic change in agrifood, together

Launched and led by our members, the European AgriFood Co-Funding Alliance brings together philanthropic and impact-driven funders to co-invest in initiatives that drive systemic transformation in Europe’s agrifood sector.

This community of practice was co-initiated by We Share Forward Foundation (an Impact Europe member), Better Way Foundation, Climate Farmers, Mustardseed Trust, and individual member Wieteke Zuure. It is grounded in a shared belief that transforming agrifood systems requires more than isolated funding; it requires collaboration, aligned strategies, and a systemic lens.

Fund better, together

Funders in the alliance pool knowledge, resources, and capital, co-funding both commercial and non-profit ventures with transformative potential. The approach blends catalytic capital with expert insight, leveraging a shared theory of transformation shaped by the European AgriFood Systems-Change Consortium, the alliance’s Knowledge Partner.

A collaborative journey

Members meet regularly to structure deals, learn together, and contribute to a shared funding strategy. Opportunities include co-funding calls, co-learning sessions on system dynamics, and joint advocacy to influence wider change in the sector.

By working together, members reduce fragmentation, share due diligence, and direct funding toward the leverage points that matter most, whether through pooled philanthropic contributions or direct co-investment.

This is a member-founded and member-led initiative. Impact Europe is proud to feature it as part of our wider community, though it is independently initiated and governed by its founding members.
