Over the past months, Impact Europe has been developing a study titled “Collaboration in action - How to collectively work towards systems change”.
The research aims to understand how different types of capital can align to drive impact that goes beyond projects, toward long-term, structural solutions.
Based on extensive interviews, real-world examples, and insights from across the Impact Europe community, we explored how can public, private, and philanthropic capital work together more effectively to unlock systems change.
What the research explores
- Concrete collaboration example from across Europe and beyond
- The enabling conditions and challenges that shape effective co-investment and partnership
- Practical pathways toward systems change, including the role of catalytic capital
How the insights were gathered
To build an evidence-based view, we have:
- Engaged with 45+ practitioners and experts across our network to gather insights
- Collected success stories and honest lessons learned from practitioners
- Collected additional input during three online gatherings held between September and October 2025 and three sessions at our Impact Week 2025 in Malmö
- Conducted an extensive literature review of publications by leading experts in the field
What to expect from the webinar
- Officially launch the research
- Key insights from the research
- Illustrative examples of collaboration in practice
- How catalytic capital can support systems-level solutions
- Participants reflections and case studies that will inform the next stages of the study.
