Impact Europe Welcomes Angela Wiebeck as New CEO
Impact Europe, Europe’s leading network of impact capital providers, today announced the appointment of Angela Wiebeck as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 6 November 2025. She succeeds Roberta Bosurgi, who has led the organisation since 2019.
Angela brings 25 years of experience embedding sustainability into financial and business strategies, connecting private and institutional investors, financiers, foundations, and philanthropists for sustainability and impact. As Chief Sustainability Officer at Aquila Capital, she made decarbonisation central to the firm’s business strategy and advised asset owners on their renewable energy decisions. She spent 17 years at UBS in senior roles including Head of Sustainability Projects, advancing the bank’s Net Zero commitment and adoption of the Principles for Responsible Banking, and Head of Impact Investing, where she shaped UBS’s sustainable investment strategy and oversaw the launch the $471 million Oncology Impact Fund. From 2017 to 2021, she led the implementation of UBS’s sustainability strategy across divisions, including the UBS Optimus Foundation.
Under Angela Wiebeck’s leadership, Impact Europe will continue to expand and serve its diverse member community, including foundations, impact funds, corporates, institutional investors, and public entities – all to unlock more capital for people and planet.
“Angela brings exactly what Impact Europe needs right now,” said Leslie Johnston, Chair of the Board. “She has spent years building bridges between the impact world and traditional finance. I am confident her leadership will transform an even broader mix of players – foundations, investors, asset managers, social enterprises, corporates and more – into a powerful force for change in Europe and beyond.”
“I’m honoured to join this extraordinary community. Europe’s transition to a greener, more innovative, and equitable economy will depend on mobilising private capital at scale. Catalytic capital and impact investing are key to this transformation. By embedding impact into mainstream finance, we can accelerate systemic and lasting change,” said Angela Wiebeck.
Wiebeck will make her public debut at Impact Week 2025 (18–20 November, Malmö) - Europe’s flagship gathering for impact capital providers - where she will share her vision for the next chapter of Impact Europe.
