Spotlight on Member Annual Reports
At the half-year mark of 2025, many Impact Europe members have released their 2024 annual reports (we have, too!). Below you’ll find outcomes and insights gathered from a selection of these reports (alphabetically by organisation). We hope these key developments from the past year inspire, inform and perhaps point towards way to navigate today's uncertain moment.
Acumen deployed $17.3 million in patient capital across global ventures and launched a $90 million agribusiness initiative in Pakistan, with the aim to uplift incomes of 13 million smallholder farmers by 2035.
The EIB committed €7.9 billion across 102 global projects, with 60% directed at climate and environmental sustainability and 28% of projects contributing significantly to gender equality. Their 2024 report gives an inside view on how their strategy keeps up with evolving EU objectives.
“Since our foundation, we have positively impacted the lives of over 50 million people living in absolute poverty.” In addition to six new investments in 2024, elea launched a strategic partnership with fellow Impact Europe member Stiftung Fourfold to realize their Vision 2030; reaching 100 million people living in poverty is the aim.
Working in cross-sector partnerships across five countries, Generation Europe enabled 86% of graduates to secure paid employment and meet their financial needs 2-5 years post-program. See our recent case study with Generation Spain for a tangible example.
Impact Shakers launched their first €20 million venture fund to support underrepresented founders in climate tech, inclusion tech and impact infrastructure. Their vibrantly designed report features stories of the people who made this – and many more initiatives – happen.
“We unlocked over EUR 279 million in additional funding for our partners, and EUR 188 million to scale their work.” Laudes Foundation CEO and Impact Europe Board Chair Leslie Johnston credits much of this success to partnerships: “Thank you to our 300+ partners across the globe who are inspiring many - business leaders, policy makers, investors, labour leaders - to act.”
“Around 70% of impact unicorns globally (period between 2015-2023) are science-based ventures whose technological solutions are rooted in technological innovation, yet only 1 out of 5 ventures invested by early-stage impact funds in Europe are science-based (out of a sample of 31 funds).” In light of this finding, Maze is launching a pre-seed scientific innovation fund, which Maze CEO António Miguel recently discussed in his takeover of our newsletter.
Schneider Electric (Sustainability Report)
“Reflecting on 2024, we proudly exceeded our 2025 ambition of providing green and reliable electricity to 50 million people worldwide, now reaching 53.4 million individuals cumulatively since 2009. We also trained over 824,000 individuals in energy management since 2009, moving closer to our goal of one million by the end of 2025.” Named the most sustainable company in the world by TIME, Schneider Electric looked ahead to their next sustainability transformation cycle (2026-2030) in this report.
Triodos Food Transition Europe Fund
In 2024, Triodos grew their Food Transition Europe Fund AUM to €72.1 million, a 20.6 % increase year-over-year. This enabled 6.6 million organic meals and prevented 2,000 tonnes of resource waste. While this report covers just one fund, we highly recommend checking out Triodos’s other work and insights, including their excellent podcast, Inside Impact Investing.
Bonus: Alfanar & BuildPalestine
Alfanar deployed £712K in funding to 38 social enterprises in 2024 alone, directly improving the lives of over 85,000 people. Moreover, 2024 marked a milestone year for the organisation, as they celebrated 20 years of impact across the Arab world. BuildPalestine, operating in a year defined by war and loss, stepped up as a lifeline for Palestinian-led innovation; the organization supported 10 grassroots social enterprises through its programs, disbursed €30,000 in grants, and reached over 2.300 community beneficiaries through its fellows’ initiatives alone.
