Dr. Peter W Heller

Peter is the co-founder and executive director of the CANOPUS Foundation.

He studied economics and philosophy in St. Gallen, Lausanne (CH) and Freiburg (D) and holds a PhD degree in economics. 1990-1997 he was deputy mayor for Environmental Protection of the City of Freiburg,1993-1997 he served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of ICLEI, Cities for Sustainability.

He is a co-founder and board member of BASE, the Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy, and of the HUMBOLDT VIADRINA Governance Platform, Berlin.

In his business life, Peter is the founder, owner and executive director of Forseo GmbH, an independent investment firm dedicated to promote start-up companies in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency. He serves as chairman of the Supervisory Boards of Fahrenheit GmbH and Streb AG.
