Julie Desmet

Julie joined the EVPA Community and Market Development team in March 2018 after working as an external consultant for the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe. She studied Governance and Leadership in European Public Health at Maastricht University, building on her study of Biomedical Sciences at the KU Leuven.

Julie has a great interest in how social entrepreneurship can tackle societal issues and how venture philanthropy can scale this societal impact through innovative ways of financing and collaborating. That's why she has been exposing herself a lot to these concepts in recent years by being actively engaged in Academics For Development, a student-led organisation founded on social entrepreneurship that strives to give students the possibility to have societal impact through a hands-on entrepreneurial experience.
